Bottom line, I'm so relieved to know that Mason's not going anywhere. I was worried after some of the rumors that I heard. And he just had me sobbing and pleading through the entire episode -- the part with George in her office (the "I love you" tugged my poor heartstrings so badly, and even hinted back to the pilot where George had bemoaned not feeling up to flirting with him), the entire scene with Daisy's ring (which I knew would happen since she first mentioned it at the beginning), the interaction with the camper, then the torturous waiting at the end just to see if Mason would show up at the restaurant. Callum Blue's character is by far one of my favorites. He plays Mason, a wrongly (at least in my eyes) self-proclaimed screw-up, with such heart, taking him from lovable goofball to heartbreaking champion. I am constantly reminded of how Mason is, without a doubt, the most sympathetic and caring character on the show.

With my biggest mention out of the way, I also turn to some other observations:

- The purple post-it really didn't mean anything. (So what is Mason being on Rube's "list" about?)
- I kept expecting George to run into her mom at Happy Time. (Guess they're saving that for the end of the season.) And there Rube will be, unable to keep them apart like he did with her and Clancy and Reggie at the restaurant. I often wonder how he can continue to intervene when he, himself, is constantly seeking out ties to the family he left behind. (And his daughter is dying next week. Yes, Roxy, do "take care of the big guy.")
- While I was happy to see the Pet Reaper again, I was sad for JD. (The method surprised me. My dog is diabetic, so I kept having nasty visions of all the chocolate ice cream causing something, especially after what the neighbor had been saying.) It was one of the saddest things to see the soul of JD pass right through Reggie as she stood there.
- Since I had assumed (as, I'm sure, many did) the purple post-it signified the reaper's final job (even though Rube insisted that no reaper knows when that will be), I was trying to warm up to the camper as Mason's possible replacement. Eh. Not so much. He was a nice enough character, but didn't have that something special that Mason does.
- Kiffany definitely has something going on!! Psychic, huh? She knows. She so knows about the reapers!
- It was sad how Mason tried to spend his last day with those he cared about, but kept getting pushed away. His needing to face the fact that not everyone could be forced to understand why that day was so meaningful to him was one of the most heartbreaking parts of the episode.
- Graveling!Ray is still hanging around outside the house, too. Although the killing seems to have been resolved, through Roxy (I knew she had a soft spot for Mason), I hope some explanation is offered as to exactly what happened there.
- My father, who also watches the show, mentioned to me that he thinks the reapers cause the deaths to some extent . . . no matter Rube's claim otherwise. He said that the camper never would have died, never would have decided to get in the water, if Mason hadn't interacted with him the way he had. My thought is that it's going to happen anyway, sometimes the reaper just guides the person toward a certain method. Tannenbaum wasn't afraid of anything -- except swimming after dark. He was determined to go out not being afraid of anything, period.

Two episodes left, and I love this show more and more all the time.
