I actually managed to write a few new pages for this over the weekend! Yay! So to celebrate, here is the end of Chapter 11.

I always really liked parts of this chapter, although there are still some segments I'm not quite as thrilled with. I'm still working through it so please excuse any mistakes, as I'm still un'beta-ed for now.

Okay, as I mentioned the other day, I'm trying to take steps to complete the unfinished stories I still have lying around. So here's a small segment of what I managed to write of Out of Joint before life got in the way. I apologize in advance for any glaring problems, as it hasn't been beta'ed. But it does feel good to accomplish even a small posting, so I hope those of you who are still sticking around enjoy!

Also, I'm still hoping for some inspiring Spuffy to help get my mind back into writing this. So if you have any great new Spike/Buffy recs, I invite you to shout them out here! I'd be most grateful!

I received word several weeks ago that Out of Joint had been nominated for Best WIP at the Burst into Flame Spuffy Awards. At the time, my computer woes were many and my LJ time was minimal. But now that I have at least one of those problems fixed, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the individual who nominated the story, as well as xevildeadgirlx for putting such hard work into the awards. Thank you, thank you!

And, of course, to display my lovely new banner! :) (Yay!)



Finally, I felt a little embarrassed to be nominated for a story that I haven't updated in so long. So to prove I haven't abandoned it, I offer a short section of the next chapter.

Unfortunately, this segment has not been beta'ed, which I don't like to do, but I'm afraid if I wait until I have the time, I may never get it posted – in the near future, anyway. Any horrific mistakes are mine, alone. (And I can always go back and fix them.)

( Out of Joint Chapter 10 – Part 2 )

It's been a while since I was able to really work on this. The job has left me precious little free time at the moment, and I'm still trying to figure out how to best budget the time I do have. However, after the judges were so wonderful as to finish the RDAs (which, subsequently, became my first fic award ever), I wouldn't feel right going too much longer without some small update.

I hope you like this bit!

Here's the last scene of Out of Joint Chapter 9.

Things in Real Life are going to be a little stressful and busy for a while – school is underway and my free time isn't quite as free anymore. Therefore, I don't expect to have Chapter 10 ready for posting until after the end of September. (Just in case anyone wants to hold off on reading this part until closer to that date.)

In the meantime, I plan on finishing the final chapter of my watchersdiaries Art-A-Thon fic, Geometry of Chance. (The last scene is being a big ol' tease, but I am determined to work it out.)

I was planning to finish the remainder of Chapter 9 in one larger post. However, the entire month of September (aka: the start of the academic year) is going be supremely busy for me as well as for my beta. Therefore, since Chapter 10 will be a bit longer in coming, I thought I'd space out the last two scenes of this chapter.

Hope y'all can be patient with me -- first year teaching in a brand-spankin'-new school, after all. *G* (I do have much more written, however – at least through the beginning of Chapter 13.)

I did my final bit of landscaping detail today. The grandparents' yard looks awesome, but I am now so utterly tired I'm ready to fall over. (And it's only 10:00.) Posting this last segment of Chapter 8 requires very little thought, though, so up it goes!
