Disney workers sure know how to finish a project with a flourish!

I wonder if I could convince my fellow teachers to end the school year like this every June? :)

Because you can never have too many good things in your life, and because we tend to overlook the good stuff far too often, here, in no particular order (and for no other reason than I felt like it), are 101 things that make my life awesome! I was surprised by how short a time it took me to list them all. (The best part was I probably could have kept going!)

Donate to the Australian Red Cross here and help send aid to those whose lives were affected by the horrible brushfires in Victoria and throughout southern Australia.

Hugs and good thoughts to those on my flist (as well as some RL friends) who have any connection to this tragedy.

- I was so happy to have been able to see the inauguration live this afternoon. My students were cooperative and attentive when I turned the TV on. I'm not sure they realize the historic magnitude of what happened today, but they still allowed me to enjoy it.

- I just have to shake my head at those who are *still* bent out of shape over the fact that President Obama used his middle name (Hussein) while being sworn in. For goodness sake, it's a name - and it was his long before the U.S. ever went to war with Iraq. (Both times.) He could have been "Barack Voldemort Obama," and it's still just a name!

- The letter that the Bush twins wrote to Sasha and Malia was very touching. And although I'm not a big fan of their father, what they said about him (and how it relates to the Obama girls) really was beautiful.

- ( Some of my favorite parts of the inaugural speech, which, yes, made me a little teary at times )

- President Barack Obama. It sounds good, doesn't it?

- Today just *feels* different in so many ways. I hope we can all work toward making this a truly wonderful transition in the history of our country.

The Good
- I love my new solid shampoos from Lush. They make my hair smell so pretty!

- The first weekend of '09 and I have 10 miles under my belt. (It's a marathon year again!)

- I have leftover Thai for lunch tomorrow.

- I'm greatly enjoying the book I'm currently reading. (Too bad the time I have to read it is about to be drastically reduced!)

- I received a few submissions for tardos_treasure. Very few, but still - it's a start! When I get a few more, I'll get a master list of nominees up and running.

The Bad

- I have to go back to work tomorrow. (Yeah, that pretty much tops it.)

- Do I even remember what I was working on with my students?

The Whiny (Or is it "wine-y?")

- Someone opened a bottle of wine that I had been saving, and now it's nearly gone.

I'm off to Phoenix tomorrow, and I'm concerned about my layover in Detroit - especially after hearing about all the awful weather across the Midwest. My trip is only 4 days, and I'm really hoping I don't have to spend them all at the airport. *fingers crossed*
