Words, Words, Words.

Ack! I woke up this morning and totally felt like writing! (Of course, that always happens on days where I don't have a minute to spare.) I have so much running around to do today, since I'm helping my grandmother fix Easter dinner for when the cousins arrive. Regardless, I managed to hammer out a good bit of Out of Joint. However, there was a catch. My brain didn't seem to want to let me write anything other than a Spike/Buffy scene and, of course, the story wasn't quite ready for that yet. So I did something I rarely ever do . . . I skipped ahead a few chapters and wrote what I wanted to write.

I'm not sure how much this scene will change between now and when the action actually catches up to this point, but I was kinda happy with the way it turned out. It's completely unedited, unbeta'ed, and I've only gone back to read it once, but here is a snapshot of what I'm looking at for the next Spike/Buffy encounter in the story (when, I hope, the tale starts to get more Spuffy-centric). I'm estimating it to be around Chapter 9.

Well, I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd hoped over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I got a lot done, but between family visits, commitments with friends, a wedding, students' Mock Trial practice, shopping, and generally not being home, a lot of what I really wanted to do kind of fell by the wayside. Namely, I was able to dedicate absolutely zero time to polishing-up Mirror Darkly and I only got about a page and a half written for Out of Joint. However, what I was able to do with the latter left me more-or-less satisfied. So, although a full chapter probably won't be ready for a while (depending on my back-to-school schedule for the week), I do have enough of Chapter 4 plotted to post a baker's dozen "Fat-Free Cookies."

There. At least now I feel somewhat productive.

I haven't had anything new to post for Out of Joint for a little while since it seems this latest part has it in for me. (The fact that my brother is only home from Okinawa until the 30th certainly cuts down on my motivation to lock myself away and write as well.) However, I feel the need to prove to myself that I'm continuing to get somewhere with the story. So I'm uploading a few Fat-Free (aka mostly spoiler-free) "Cookies." (If for nothing more than my own personal amusement and motivation. Should anyone else find them interesting or entertaining, then yay! A two-fer!)

These are random excerpts of Chapter 3, probably not in any particular order since it seems I'm not completely satisfied with the arrangement of the sections. For anyone who might be interested, the actual story (or the first two chapters, anyway) is here.

Well, it's been a while since I've felt motivated enough to work on fanfiction of any kind. But I went on a spree and finished Legacy this weekend. Finished! As in "the end," "fini," "terminado!" And it only took, what? Two years? (*sheepish grin*)

(After double-checking for typos, it'll be off to Darkhaven. Then maybe I can actually start working on an ending to zaki's story.)

And since I enjoy posting snippits, I thought I'd add a few for the grande finale of Legacy. Random cookies from Chapter 17 -- fat free and in no particular order. Enjoy!

I’ve made quite a bit of progress on Legacy16 over the last day or so. (More than last week when I, ironically, had more time to work on it! Guess no matter what I’ll always feel more productive working under pressure!)

Anyway, here’s another helping of random quotes, references, and blurbs from the upcoming chapter. (I was very hard-pressed to find anything that wasn’t too "spoilery," so I made a series of character references instead of full snippits.

Behind the cut, there’s more or less one quote per character (although there’re a few characters who have more than one reference made to them), and the names have been neatly excised to protect the innocent. *G*

Evanescence, wow. I mean the whole darn album. Wow.

If anything was going to get me back in the mood to write Legacy again, that sure did it! (Especially with what's going on in the most recent chapter.) I'm not sure how long it'll be before I start to tire of the CD, but I hope it will be a while!

Legacy15 is not quite ready yet (EQ is taking one more look at it for me), but with any luck I should have it sent to Darkhaven and FanFiction.Net this weekend. *fingers crossed*

To celebrate, I was going to post another cookie, but I only have those of the fatty variety at the moment. (None that won't spoil your appitite!) So I thought I'd do something a little different. Here's a snippet of a completely different fic!

A word of warning: It's unfinished, unedited, un-beta-ed, and unlikely to be released while I'm still working on Legacy, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

It's not a prequel or a sequel to anything of mine -- in fact, it's a pure Realm-fic. (In that it takes place during the timeline of the show.) I'm not even sure if it will eventually tie into the timeline of any of my other stories at all, but it did beg to be written. This excerpt has nothing whatsoever to do with the plot of the story (well, nothing obvious, anyway), so it's about as spoiler-free as I'm gonna get. It is a cute little interaction, though. Excuse the rough spots, not many besides myself have even seen it yet.

But if you pardon, I will strive to mend! :)

As many people who might find their way here probably know, Rummi likes to do a bit of writing in her spare time. My most current fandom obsessions tend to gravitate toward the realm of fantasy - most notably the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon of the early 80's. My latest foray into fan-based literature, Legacy, has been going strong for over a year now and I'm both surprised and thrilled by the responses I've gotten for it! Lately, however, updates have been few. (Real Life is, unfortunately, a rather harsh master.)

I've felt kind of guilty for not having anything new up for Legacy over the past few months. (I actually can't believe my last update was way back in January!) Of course, I've still been working on it, but I haven't spent the time I'd like in the revision process. (There's still a lot to go over.) I do know that some people have been waiting patiently and so, in appreciation, I've prepared a baker's dozen "fat-free" (aka "spoiler-free") cookies for you!
