With the closure of Btefnet, my weekly Sunday night download is going a tad slower than normal. I managed to find a torrent of tonight's Family Guy - for the bro in Iraq - though I can't seem to locate a file that wants to go any faster than half a KB per second, with a completion rate of less than 5 days.

But soldier on I shall, for my favorite soldier...and his badly needed doses of crude humor! (Not to mention the fact that I got roped into watching the finale of Survivor tonight and didn't get the see the FG episode myself, either.)

Try these two...

and
http://www.torrentsearch.us/

I've had pretty good luck with them.

Thanks!

You can never have too many torrent sites...since you never know when the next one is going to "die."

The download I started last night finally kicked into gear after I got home from work. (Maybe there were finally enough people with completed files to draw from.)

Oh! And just to let you know: I recently managed to get a complete collection of Firefly. (After you mentioned it a while ago, I decided it was finally time to satisfy my curiosity.) See? Where would we be without torrents? *sigh*

Indeed. Gotta sample before buying. *G*

So, have you got to watch any of the Firefly yet? :)

Just up to the opening credits of the pilot episode -- enough to get me interested. *G* Probably won't have time to really devour them until work winds down a bit more, but I'll definitely let you know what I think!

The MPAA is unpatriotic! With BTefnet gone, the terrorists WIN.

(Ooh, can't wait to check out those two torrent sites recced in the comments...)

I just heard from him on the phone yesterday, and he's going pretty well. Thanks so much for asking! *hugs back*

(I know he'll love these FG episodes if I manage to get them all burned to a disk. *G*)

When is his tour of duty finished?

Officially, he hasn't been told. (Or, if he has, he hasn't told us...which, with the military, is always a possibility.) We are assuming his tour in Iraq will be over in October, since that was when his tour of Okinawa was supposed to have ended. (Technically, Okinawa is still his duty station since he and his unit are actually serving as temporary replacements for another group which was stationed in the Middle East.) With any luck, he'll be back from Iraq at the same time he would have been back from Japan.

At least that's what we're hoping. You can never be sure, though. *fingers crossed*

Let's just say that my consciousness has been raised these two years on lj and I support the troops *wholeheartedly*, for their bravery and their service.

And I can't wait until they can all go back home again :)
