Because I didn't have time to write yesterday, and because the extra time to think yielded interestingness.
Why 'Numbers' was extra creepy after some time went by...
The Hurleyness was cute and, at first glance, the surface of the episode doesn't have a whole lot going on. (Except, hey
buttersideup! Hurley is fabulously wealthy!)
Some of the stuff I've noticed (or seen theorized) regarding the numbers, though . . . . Dude, whoa.
Okay, so the numbers were 4 8 15 16 23 and 42.
-- Flight number: Oceanic flight 815 (Although I was thinking about this on my way to work this morning, I've also seen a lot of talk about it today. Guess I zeroed in on the most obvious one.)
-- Was 815 also Kate's safe deposit box number? I saw that somewhere today. Confirm, anyone?
-- $23 thousand = reward to turn Kate in
-- This one is a longer shot, but I saw it somewhere today too: According to Hurley, he's worth $156 million. So if one were to do the math: 1+5+6+4+8+1+5+1+6+2+3+4+2= 48 survivors (On a somewhat related note, Hurley can certainly afford to give Walt the money he's been winning at backgammon. If he does, I'll be sure to giggle.)
-- 4 = number of years Locke spent in a wheelchair
-- 16 = number of years Rosseau's transmission has been broadcasting
Other stuff:
-- Locke works in a box company. The one Hurley owns, maybe?
-- Ahhhhhhhhh! (This little piece o' creepiness brought to you by
cleolinda and the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 and 42.)
