80's Ending - I was pointed in the direction of this site yesterday. Mentally insert the clip into the last 6 minutes of your favorite 80's movie and see how well they match up!

Does your favorite 80's film have:

80's Movie Ending Checklist

- An unlikely group of Losers come together as friends (including the Clean-Cut Hero, the Bad Boy, the Token Ethnic Characters, at least one Lovable Weirdo, and a Sisterly Chick With a Big Heart Who's Not Quite Hot Enough to Play the Female Lead).
- Said Losers work together to accomplish something meaningful (usually through some kind of need to raise funds) and finally gain the respect of the community around them.
- Of course, there must be Sweatered Preppy Guys and/or Jocks who take personal offense to said Losers' existence and plan to undermine them in some way. (Head-Preppy/Jock, naturally, has personal grudge against Clean-Cut Hero.)
- Enter the Nerdy Girl who always believed in them and who harbors unspoken love for the Clean-Cut Hero.
- There may be a frat house (or another student group) involved.
- There's usually some amount of money to be raised to stop an impending foreclosure, demolition, urban development, etc. ("We need $______ to save the ______!")
- The former Cheerleader girlfriend of Head-Preppy/Jock (with whom Clean-Cut Hero has been in love, like, forever) finally decides she wants him in return now that he's socially acceptable.
- Not surprisingly, this only causes Clean-Cut Hero to finally realize his love for Nerdy Girl.
- Well, lookee there! Nerdy Girl was hot all along!
- Cue the rock ballad by ____________. (fill-in with: REO Speedwagon, Journey, Survivor, Peter Cetera/Chicago, Eddie Money, Kenny Loggins . . . .)
- That leaves Cheerleader up for grabs for any of the other Losers -- often the Lovable Weirdo, and often with zero reluctance on the Cheerleader's part. (Funny how Lovable Weirdo is forced to jump through far less hoops than the Clean-Cut Hero. But it is the end of the film . . . .)
- In fact, it's time for everybody to pair up . . .
- . . . and resolve their Daddy issues . . .
- . . . and come to racial understandings . . .
- . . . and make an instant truckload of money (or respect) from something that no one else ever believed they could do.
- Which leaves just enough time for the Head-Preppy/Jock to publicly humiliate himself.

Yep, this has just about all of them. Without even thinking about it too much, I automatically saw elements of The Goonies, Revenge of the Nerds, One Crazy Summer, The Karate Kid, Teen Wolf, Footloose, The Heavenly Kid, and Sixteen Candles.

Anybody else care to list some films this reminded them of? Are there any elements necessary to an 80's movie that were actually missing from the clip?

(I love 80's fun!)
