Although I was unable to sign up for [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy this time around, I'm greatly looking forward to commenting on the wonderful creations that will undoubtedly surface at that community over the next few months. Best of luck to those members of my flist who are participating! I can't wait to see your offerings. *G*

I am, however, participating in the recent Wash/Zoë Ficathon being hosted over at [livejournal.com profile] wifesoup, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to give it a bit of a plug. Sign-ups are continuing until the 6th of March, so any interested parties who may not already know about it, go! Sign up!

The more Big Damn Love the better!

As I mentioned not too long ago, I don't pimp wonderful things nearly as often as I should. I'm getting a head-start on one of my holiday resolutions by attempting to rectify that.

[livejournal.com profile] amybnnyc has contributed a magnificent multi-part fic called "Whispers in a Dead Man's Ear" to the [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy community. It consists of 8 canon-based situations, set in or around certain pivotal episodes, in which Buffy and Spike share a series of honest conversations.

Why you should read it:

I've not read anything by Amy before, but I know she's well-respected in the fandom. Turns out, it's for a very good reason. Not only are her "voices" perfect and real, but they develop flawlessly as the characters do, showing a seamless progression throughout the show's seasons. Each segment is written with a focus on either Buffy's or Spike's point of view (because it's important to get both), and portrays a tremendous amount of insight into the important moments that shaped their relationship. It's snarky and hysterically funny; poingant and tender; sometimes dark, but always hopeful. Quite simply: it's a wonderful piece of writing.

Currently, there are 7 parts completed. (The 8th is slated for posting Sunday evening in [livejournal.com profile] amybnnyc's own journal.) Those members of my flist who haven't had the pleasure of reading this wonderful story yet, do so. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.

[livejournal.com profile] vandonovan has started a fanfiction archive for any Firefly stories related to Zoë/Wash. It looks to be a very cool place!

Flower and Leaf: A Zoë/Wash Fanfiction Archive

I've already posted Broken Toys, and I can't wait to give more of the stories a read.

Check it out!

Pimping

I've had house guests this weekend (Shoot me now. Seriously. Or at the very *least* help me escape!!), so I haven't had many opportunities to do anything besides comment on other people's posts. But there has been some terrific stuff on LJ over the last few days.

I don't pimp wonderful things nearly often enough. And I should. I absolutely should.

Like, weekly.

So, here's one that's just to die for! If you haven't been by [livejournal.com profile] summer_of_spike today, go here now!

[livejournal.com profile] awmp has created something that's sure to get your heart racing. (And if there's anyone out there who doesn't already know just how magnificently talented she is, consider this Exhibit A.)

Of course, she gets double my lovin' because she made me such pretty new icons!

I've posted Part 3 of "Geometry of Chance" at the [livejournal.com profile] watchersdiaries. I do hope those who are reading continue to enjoy it!

(Thanks again to Editorial Queen, and big hugs to [livejournal.com profile] sandy_s!)

May I also take this moment to pimp not only the superbly talented [livejournal.com profile] wickedfox, whose incredibly wonderful banner inspired the story, but also the Art-A-Thon Reversed Challenge, which is the reason for all this!

There's still time to participate! So, go! Get inspired!

Geometry of Chance – Part 2

I'm planning to take a mini trip tomorrow for the fourth. Penn State always puts on a really nice fireworks display (one of the best I've ever been to), so I'll be visiting my alma mater for the day. I hope everybody else in the States has a nice Fourth of July!

I've been working through the last chapter of Geometry of Chance and I should be posting another part of it pretty soon as well.

[pimp] For anyone interested, the Art-A-Thon Reversed is still going on. Check out the pictures and get inspired! You can still post stories throughout the months of July and August. [/pimp]

I finished posting the first section of my reply to the Art-A-Thon Reversed challenge at the [livejournal.com profile] watchersdiaries. I'm pretty excited about it. I had no idea how much I'd enjoy writing about Ethan. :)

Since it's still Father's Day here, I thought I'd take the opportunity to wish all fathers a very wonderful holiday (whether you celebrate it on this date or not). Hope any fathers who read this had (or are still having) a great day!

I also wanted to take a moment to plug the [livejournal.com profile] watchersdiaries' terrific Reversed Art-A-Thon Challenge. Several very talented artists have submitted their work and are in need of a corresponding story. (Since I'd received such amazing art from the original Art-A-Thon, I definitely wanted to show my appreciation by returning the favor this time around.)

Check out the site. See the Pretty. Get inspired!

The artistic talent is absolutely incredible, and there's definitely something there for everybody! Personally, I'm about 1500 words into a fic already. (Gangbusters after the Father's Day picnic, baby!) And the strange thing is, it's a story I probably never would have written otherwise, centering around one character in particular who may never have captured my interest. But that's what challenges are for, right?

Can I just say how much I was skipping all over the place when I saw that [livejournal.com profile] deathisyourart was the one who made the artwork for my final submission to the [livejournal.com profile] watchersdiaries Art-A-Thon!? (Me, all a-squee! *G*)

Her creations for Life, Unfiltered can be found right here. She does absolutely breathtaking work and there simply aren't enough adjectives to describe how thrilled I am! (An extra special thanks to her, and to [livejournal.com profile] blond_bear, for creating the wonderful community hosting this event.) Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] deathisyourart. You've made my day many times over!

I must say that I have been super, super lucky to have gotten such magnificent artwork from this project. (My other pieces, if you recall, were from [livejournal.com profile] sandy_s here.) I adore the contrasts between the themes. (Especially since Amy Acker is featured in both...and looking very differently, besides!) Please leave some lovely feedback for these lovely ladies. It was obvious just how hard they worked, and they certainly deserve all the praise in the world!

Thank you both again! *hugs*

EDIT: Deathisyourart, sweetie, I just can't stop staring at my icon! Just so...hypnotizingly...pretty! *VBG*
