I seriously did a little happydance in my chair when I saw you had posted a new chapter. I get so excited to see this story updated. It makes me a little sad to think there are only a few chapters left, but like massivelyminute said, I'm looking forward to being able to go back in and read the whole thing from start to finish. I'm certain the finished story will end up as one of my go-to "comfort reads" for when I'm stressed or down.
This chapter was great! Technically not a lot happens, but we get to see more of Owen's motivations unfold, and that in turn makes him a lot more frightening. He's just unbalanced enough that you have absolutely no idea what he'll do next, but he's also intelligent and cunning enough that he's a serious threat. There's a martial arts saying that a rookie is more dangerous than an experienced person because the rookie is more likely to do something incredibly crazy or stupid. That keeps running through my mind whenever Owen is "on screen," and it makes him really work as a villain. And now Megamind's effectively backed him into a corner, so we have a crazy fanboy with overpowered weapons, rapidly approaching having nothing to lose. That's terrifying! It's fantastic. :D
Also, I don't know if I've said this before, but your Roxanne is just so spot on. I can hear Tina Fey's voice when I read her lines, and that almost never happens for me. I love it. You're a fantastic writer. I'm selfishly hoping you choose to continue to write Megamind stuff after this fic is over, because I adore your stories.
Thank you for putting so much effort into continuing this story. I can't wait to see what happens next!
