30 Days of Fanfic - Day 14

14 – Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?

I generally like to keep my stories around the same rating as the original canon. I'll often go just a bit higher, to the PG-13 (T) range, because it fits the story I want to tell and suits my more adult interests. (Especially since several of my fandoms tend to focus on cartoons.)

I'm not comfortable with writing NC-17 stories, though I do enjoy reading them! Would I ever write one, though? Maybe. Just because I haven't yet doesn't mean I wouldn't. (Though I'm probably better off leaving that to those who specialize in it. I can't imagine my unwritten amateur porn would be any good.)
