"Out of Joint" - Prologue -- Attack of the dreaded WIP!

Ohhh, I’m gonna get myself into trouble, here, I just know it! Normally I never post a WIP – they tend to make me nervous since there are so many outstanding ones out there that are destined to stay incomplete forever. I like to write a story through to the end, then spruce it up as I submit the chapters for posting. (After all, you never know when you might need to completely change something in Chapter 3 to coincide with something you’ve decided to do in Chapter 13. And changing the hard copy from the get-go is a lot simpler than trying to revise the story everywhere it’s been archived.)

In short, it’s a risk – but it’s also a challenge that I’ve never tried. I know exactly what I want to happen, it’s the in-between details that will pose the biggest test. But LJ is easily editable, so what the heck, right?

Therefore, I’m swallowing my nerves, and submitting for your approval, my first chaptered BtVS fanfic.

In summary: The events of the AtS episode “Destiny” go very differently . . . . Spike believed Angel had sold his soul to W&H. He never considered that powerful evil forces were plotting to use him as their champion instead…by giving him exactly what he wants.
Very much an ensemble story, but quite Spuffy at its heart!
