Well, well, well. So many things going on in tonight's episode. Where to begin?

* I guess I'll start with what was probably tonight's biggest milestone for George -- the (posthumous) loss of her virginity. Honestly, I hope that in the long run Trip turns out to be a good guy. (Put into the context of his current grief, I hadn't expected anything other than an awkward morning after.) But he did seek George out, and that, for me, was a plus in his column. Maybe I'm reading more into this than I should, but I think a (possibly recurring) character of the less-than-undead variety would add another depth and layer to the show. (Especially if he finds out about her and still chooses to stick around.) I hope the relationship doesn't get swept under the rug like a mistake, because it's one I'd really like to see more of. (And when she told him her real last name, I had visions of him trying to track her down . . . and ending up on Joy's and Reggie's doorstep. Now, that would have been a twist!) Call me sappy, but I'm taking that promise George made to Trip's father seriously enough to expect to see more between them.

* I think we can guess what happened to Daisy's never-before-mentioned sister. Her tearful reaction to her reap's crime-of-passion murder, the abandoning of the soul at the scene after leaving a trail to find the killer, her declaration that "Rube doesn't do kids and I don't do these," and Roxy's subsequent response that "that never happened to [Daisy]" can really only mean one thing. While Daisy's death had been different, someone close to her had, indeed, been overpowered and murdered violently. (The sister being the most obvious guess at this time.) It may also explain her loss of faith.

* Mason was a bit shrewder than usual tonight. (More reminiscent of his first appearances in the pilot episode, where he played someone competent who really knew his stuff and who wasn't necessarily the lovable screwup he so often portrays.) He went so serious suddenly at the memorial when he warned George about revealing her last name, he didn't get flustered when confronted by "Whitney" at the bar, and his revealing to Trip where George lived was very telling of the intelligent, sensitive man inside him. And, sure, he still fell back on his screwy antics and petty larceny, but his quickly-covered "I love you" to Daisy was one of the sweetest moments of the night.

* Roxy covering for Rube, huh? With the book and the post-its and everything? (Does that mean she'll also get the visit from the mysterious stranger? Or will said stranger not look favorably upon Rube shirking his duties to chase ghosts -- people he claims are dead.) I'm glad they didn't let the undelivered mail subplot drop -- it's adding terrifically to Rube's arc and I can't wait to see more of the story behind his story! (By the way, he seemed very disturbed about his reap being at a school last week. Since he doesn't do children, I wonder how hard it would have been to go through with the job if it turned out to actually be a child's soul he was supposed to take.)

* I'm surprised Reggie didn't jump all over Clancy's "cheating is wrong" comment. Especially since she made it quite clear that he was the one who did the "dumping" in his and Joy's relationship. And Reggie doesn't often allow her mom to escape without an offhanded comment, so it was curious that she didn't do the same with her dad.

* There is something up with Kiffany! I swear there is something up with Kiffany! I don't know what yet (Is she another reaper, what?!), but I will find out!

Wow. As I'm writing this, I'm also watching the news after the Emmys (yay for "Arrested Development," by the way!) and there are a large number of schools in my area canceled for tomorrow. Ivan's effects still lingering, apparently. But since my school is about 200 yards from one of the major rivers, I wonder if I'll be getting a call in the morning.

*Must not get hopes up, must not get hopes up!*
