Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life.

This is a pretty pointless post. (Unless there's interest in the random things that have been on my mind.) Just sort of making my presence known.

-- So much for having a relaxing few days. I had a rare few nights "free" in a row (in which I didn't have to go running off to rehearsals, classes, random student/work related activities), however, I ended up busier than usual. My folks were visiting some friends out West for several days, so I got charged with the house and the dog. I tend to forget how, with three people, the combined household jobs are a breeze. If someone doesn't get around to doing something, somebody else will. Alone, the little nit-picky jobs seem never ending -- even things as simple as making sure the place is locked up and all the lights out at night. (It's funny how I never really notice how big the house is until I spend several hours in it alone.) Then there's my poor (diabetic, nearly blind) pooch. Max has a fixed eating schedule, as well as one for his insulin. Makes it hard to be away from the house for very long . . . or to sleep in for that matter. (Did I mention he likes to go out almost every half-hour in the morning . . . starting at 5:30. That's my Dad's fault -- he's the early riser.) By the time my folks' vacation was over, I was ready for one.

-- I'm also feeling a bit groggy and chilled as of today. After a winter of nearly perfect health, I think I may finally be coming down with something. (Though, in general, I've probably seen a healthier flu season without getting the flu shot than I've had in the years with it. So I suppose I can't complain too much.)

-- Out of curiosity (and because I had my Dad on my mind), I managed to get my hands on a BitTorrent of the Pilot episode for the new Doctor Who series. I remember watching that show with my father on public television all. the. time. when I was a kid, so, when I saw the file, I thought he might at least get a kick out of it. I transferred it to a disk for him, but still have the original on my desktop so, after a bout with nostalgia, I watched a bit. Honestly, there were a lot of cute parts (of the ones I saw, anyway). I don't remember the good Doctor acting quite so silly, or some of the occasional jokes being quite so hammy, but to be fair I don't remember much about the old series in the way of detail. The "monsters" still look chintzy as ever! *G*

-- This weekend is dedicated to updating my resume. Wow. I did a bit of work on it this summer, just because I felt I should, but for the most part I haven't even looked at the thing in 7 years. Should be interesting . . . especially since I'm not even sure if I remember how to look for jobs.

-- Email hasn't been working all day for some reason -- though my internet connection is fine. Grr.

-- I'm probably going to catch some shuteye in front of the television now.
