So many books, so little time.

After finishing five books of The Dresden Files in a little less than three weeks, my thoughts, naturally, turned to what my next undertaking would be. (Between delving into so many novels and picking steadily away at various fics, this is turning out to be quite the literary summer! I'm going to need a 'booky' icon! *g*) I currently have three recently-purchased paperbacks staring me in the face (in addition to a number of others that I simply had to have, but never started reading), each of which having a certain lure about them. But the final decision came to Wicked by Gregory Maguire.
I must say that, although I'm only a few chapters into it and have barely made it past "the birth," it's shaping up to be a rather fascinating read. (If a little more risqué than I'd thought it would be. Granted, it's been years since I've read L. Frank Baum's book, but I don't remember it being quite so, um, descriptive in both action and language. *g*) Certainly not the Wizard of Oz I remember, but I'm quite anxious to get further into it.
