30 Days of Fanfic - Day 9

9 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?

I'm an unapologetic, hopeless romantic, so many of my stories do involve 'ships of some type. Though very few of those stories can actually be categorized as "romances". I like to let a romantic storyline enhance a fic, but not be the main focus. (Unless it's just a short scene or a vignette.) That said:

D&DC - I admit my favorite pairing here is not even a canonical one. I love Eric and Diana, for reasons that I've gotten into many, many times before. (The banter . . . the potential for UST - even if there wasn't any in the actual show . . . ) I know not everyone in the fandom likes that pairing the way I do, but that was one thing that was always so awesome about D&DC: we didn't have a lot of bashing of other fans' preferences. I also love writing Hank/Sheila because, let's face it, they're practically canon! And after Legacy, I also liked writing Bobby and Teri, but only as adults. (ETA: [livejournal.com profile] r_scribbles was also kind enough to remind me of the bromantic friendship between Eric and Presto, and the marvelous antagonistic relationship between Eric and Hank. *sigh* God, I love everything in this fandom!)

Buffy/Angel - Buffy and Spike were my OTP here, and that was mostly what I wrote. I also did some Fred/Wes, which I found I enjoyed. I really liked writing Spike and Illyria as well - not in a romantic sense, but I enjoyed the potential they had to play off each other. (Additionally, some of my favorite stories to read in that fandom were friendship fics for Spike and Dawn. Those were like crack!)

Firefly - I only really wrote Wash and Zoë in this fandom. Not that I didn't enjoy reading others, but theirs was the only pairing that ever really inspired me to put metaphorical pen to paper.

Megamind - I'm only far enough along in this fandom to have really immersed myself in one pairing, and that's Megs/Roxanne. However, I've read some pretty amazing stories that focus on other 'ships as well. (Some of them pretty wild! Some of them unexpectedly fantastic!) As I move along in this fandom, I may try my hand at others. We'll see! (And Megs/Minion friendship forever!!!)
