Wow. I suck.

I am dumb.
I attempted to save a little money while ordering through Amazon by buying just enough to qualify for Free Shipping. So I did, and it was good.
Then I learned about a DVD that my father wanted so I decided to add it to my order. I followed the directions at Amazon, took note that my previous order had not shipped yet (since it was only about an hour old), placed the second order, and followed the link to combine the two. And so far, it was still good.
It was then that Amazon told me that because I requested Free Shipping on my first order I could not combine it with the new purchase. Now I was bummed because I had to pay shipping on the new order.
Woe.
But I had a Cunning Plan.
I decided to switch to Standard Shipping on my earlier order -- just until I could combine the two -- then switch back to Free Shipping.
Ha HA! It was so Cunning, it just might work. So I did it -- then followed the link to combine and hit Confirm. All seemed to be good again.
Wouldn't you know that in the ONE MINUTE it took for me to do the whole combine process, my first order fricken SHIPS! (Or at least enters the "you-can-no-longer-touch-this-order" shipping process.)
I now have two orders coming to my house. And I'm now paying shipping on both of them.
Wow. I suck.

Date: 2007-12-01 03:26 am (UTC)I am definitely kicking myself over it. But I guess I've learned a little detail about online shopping that I hadn't known before. At least I won't let it happen again.
But frustrating it certainly is.
I Prefer the Term "Life Experience" to "Suck."
Date: 2007-12-01 03:42 am (UTC)They don't let you choose free shipping once you've already chosen standard shipping. Alas. :(

Date: 2007-12-01 06:33 pm (UTC)Thanks for the advice about canceling the order. That makes sense, and if I'm ever faced with this situation again, that's what I'll do.

Date: 2007-12-01 06:35 pm (UTC)The good news is one of the orders shipped this morning. So I'll at least receive it earlier than I would have with the free shipping.
