One of my favorite places to run is Lake Scranton. It's beautiful, and lots of woodland creatures have grown accustomed to all the human foot-traffic.

Yesterday, I had a mother deer and a fawn running alongside me. Add a spontaneous musical number and a few cartoon birds tying bows in my hair, and it was a scene fit for a Disney princess.

Hee!

Had kind of a sad day for a variety of reasons.

Thankfully, I found this on Facebook...

Whirlwind trip to NYC with students yesterday.

Saw John Stamos outside the Golden Theater on 45th Street.

It was a rather eventful day.

Even more fun blue dragons have made my night! Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] elektra_lyte, [livejournal.com profile] mist72, and [livejournal.com profile] razycrandomgirl! ♥

Also, it seems I won't be going on strike tomorrow! Thank goodness! (Because, yeah. That was happening.) My school district really likes to wait until the last possible minute to work things out, but at least we'll finally have a contract. Plus, I get to go to work tomorrow!

Oh.

Wait a minute...
sharelle: (Ooops!)
Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] bat_cheva and [livejournal.com profile] agilesreader, for the virtual gifts!

Blue dragons are awesome! :)

I'm so happy at the moment! I received a review for Begin the Beguine yesterday (a personal favorite story of mine, I must admit) in which the reader said they had followed a recommendation from TV Tropes.

Natrually, I was all, "Wait -- what?" Because I had absolutely no idea a story of mine had been rec'ed over there. So I wandered over and--

*OMG LKDJASLGFKJSDLF FLAIL!* There it was.

Naturally, it made my day!

I saw this circulating around my flist often throughout the summer and felt inspired to participate. Why I imagined back-to-school time would be a good time to start, however, I have no idea! Come Wednesday I'll probably be cursing the extra things on my to-do list, but it's been a while since I really thought about my own stories. And even longer since I recalled what got me into writing them in the first place. So this should be fun!

Well, this is something I never thought I'd say (since I don't really consider myself a traditional artist), but I'm having some of my work included in an art show!

The studio where I do stained glass is being featured at our local First Friday Art Walk this week, and I was asked to submit one or two of mine. I'm actually pretty excited! (Especially since I can't draw to save my life, but my glass panels tend to turn out well!)

Here's the one I thought I might submit: )

56 pages, 19,812 words!

It's been some time since I made this kind of progress on a fic! In fact, I haven't written a story this long since Balance of Power, which was actually close to being completed at this point. But this new one is still going!

What's even better is the fact that I like it so far! Yay!

(Here's hoping this energizing interest in a new fandom will inspire me to get re-involved in my old ones too!)

I'm happy to say I've been pretty productive lately:

* Internship portfolio for my administrative certification: Done and submitted.
* Classes to go for my Masters Degree: Just the one I'm taking!
* Outstanding major student assignments to correct: None
* Miles I'm up to in Tough Mudder training: 10
* Fic written: 12,000 words!

Go me! :)

Disney workers sure know how to finish a project with a flourish!

I wonder if I could convince my fellow teachers to end the school year like this every June? :)

Because you can never have too many good things in your life, and because we tend to overlook the good stuff far too often, here, in no particular order (and for no other reason than I felt like it), are 101 things that make my life awesome! I was surprised by how short a time it took me to list them all. (The best part was I probably could have kept going!)
